Last May I was sitting on the floor in Cambodia with my friend Trevor and we were talking about life and growing up in the Church. One of the questions he asked me that has stuck with me for the last 7 months is “how did you make it through church and religion?” My answer to him was “headphones.” When I was in jr. high and high school my music was not the typical church goers selection. I didn’t like Degarmo and Key, Petra had just fired Greg X Voltz and all the other music sounded like crappy versions of the music I liked. My parents would not allowed to listen to the music that helped me deal with life, mom I know your reading this, so I would put on my headphones and listen to my walkman. Here is a list of some of the bands that I accredit to my sanity of those growing up years. Please don’t be to offended, and by the way, I still listen to these rockers once in a while to keep it real.

Something I said stuck with you that long? You have major problems! I love that “Shout at the Devil” kept you sane in church…keep on keepin’ it real man.
I listen to these on a daily basis. “Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner” is based on a true story from a guy from Shelton. Nikki Sixx was at my wedding (I think).
