I am sitting outside my door reading and trying to post. Outside my door is the only place I can go at night to be alone as we are living in an old one room motel type thing and if Abby sees me she will want to play. I love playing with her, but at 8:50 it is a bit past her bed time. Amy and Emma are swimming at a nearby hotel with some friends so I have some time alone. Oops, they just got back, so this may be a quick post. Anyway, getting on with it.
I wanted to post a bit about my Feb. 14th day. It was a great day, a day spent with all three girls in my life. I spent most of the day with Abby. We played on the swings, slid down the slide, ate some lunch and snacks and she had a nap. We always have a great time together and I am so very appreciative of this season that I get with her, I definitely don’t take it for granted.
The next part of the day was spent with Emma. I picked up her from school at 2:45 and we headed into town and ended up at the video arcade. We played a bit of basketball, some smash the crocodile head and a bunch of those stupid games where you try to pick of the stuff with the hook. After that we went to Bubba Gump shrimps and had fries and macaroni and cheese.
Finally, to end the night I went out with Amy. It was the 1st time we have got out together since we arrived so we felt it was appropriate to go to the store and buy groceries for our family. Then we went through the Taco Bell drive through and ate 7 layer veggy burritos on the sea wall watching the waves. After that we went to Safeway to buy ice cream as everything in Kona closes at 9 except Safeway and Walmart. It was a great day for sure.
I am, once again totally blessed to have this time to support my family as they, well as Amy pursues this desire. Thanks for all of you who have encouraged me in it.
Phil- That’s a great post. I like all of it except “living in a one bedroom hotel type thing” That is tough. I know that it’s only for a short time but I’m betting it’ll be good to be done with that.
Today, I’ve finally made time to catch up with your blog. Great posts. I can see you are learning a lot there as well. I just want to continue encouraging you to pour yourself into your children. Many people don’t realize that unless we take the time to reach our children’s hearts now, we may lose the chance to speak into their lives later.
I”m old enough to have witnessed too many men of great calling and passion who invested more into their call than into their own family.
On my post, at the end, just click on the line that says…The Story of Stuff. You can also just google “the story of stuff” and it shuld be the first link to come up. Thanks for your posts and comments…haven’t been reading blogs much in the past weeks as we’ve been with teams but I’ll catch up soon.
