I am sitting here in Phnom Penh with 3 day’s to go till I return home and just read a post from my good friend Ingvar that sums up what I am currently thinking. It is a post on spending time with Jesus in prayer instead of always being busy doing other things. When coming to Cambodia my purpose was to set up outreach for future teams, meet and talk with local NGO’s in the city and hang out with good friends that I have not seen in a while. My other purpose was to take 2 day’s at the end to just be with Jesus.

To be honest, I have been looking forward to the last two day’s more than anything else on this trip. I have found and am finding more and more every day that real life happens out of time with Jesus. Jesus fasted and prayed in the wilderness before beginning His ministry, the Moravian missions movement happened out of prayer and many things in my life have happened out of great times with Jesus. So although all of the other things I have done here have been great and I have enjoyed fully, I can’t wait till the 17th when I slip away to a small guest house in the city to sit and walk and rest and spend time with Jesus hearing his Heart, plan and excitement for my life.

I am attaching a link to Ingvars post for you to read as it inspired me so much this morning, thanks Ingvar.

So true…loved the Ingar/Phil insight. It is really humbling to read this and realize where this is missing from my own life. Even though i know in my head, sometimes I get disconnected in my heart and forget the things that are really important and why they are important. It’s been a while since I’ve chosen to just set a day or two aside and be with Jesus; and that’s sad because I really want and miss that.
