Matthew 26:26-29 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
Today we remember the death of Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. Over these last 37 day’s we have been looking at and talking about horrible issues that are going on in the world from slave labor to sex trafficking, to people dying of preventable diseases. I believe with all my heart that Jesus died for these issues. He died so that people could be set free. How are people going to be set free from these things? Through us.
Jesus called us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creatures. The gospel is that God loves them, Jesus died for them and they can be free. But the gospel isn’t just that in words, it is that in deeds. What has God done in your life during these last 37 day’s of Lent? Now it is time to respond, so something, do anything, do Justice.
