The United Nations says 3.7 million people “now in crisis” and more than 10 million affected by worst drought in decades. “If we don’t act now, famine will spread to all eight regions of southern Somalia within two months, due to poor harvests and infectious disease outbreaks,”
What we are calling you to do is to Do Justice and Love Mercy. We are calling for a 24 hour food and water fast for Somalia. Most of us can’t do much for this crisis, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do anything. We can stand with the people of Somalia through our voices and action.
From the time you wake up on Monday July 25 till the time you wake up on Tuesday July 26 we are challenging you to not eat or drink anything. As you go hungry take time to pray for the people in Somalia. Then on Tuesday morning we are asking you to donate $20 to Steps of Justice where 100% will go towards humanitarian aid in Somalia. This $20 number is approximately what we would spend on food and drink over a 24 hour timeframe.
Please sign up here and you can donate your $20 tax deductible gift to Steps of Justice over at http://www.stepsofjustice.
